Rise

Of a finite being in a finite world,
Say, does one not disregard one’s place?
One is but a child merely born,
Of a silent mother, cradled by grace.

Say, does one see the world beyond,
Rise above the deluding bed,
Glimpse into the infinite existence,
A silent mother’s womb has made?

Say, does one see oneself,
A thorn disappearing in a field of hay,
Rise above one’s mighty ocean,
That breathes at the mercy of the day?

Say, does one see beyond one’s tomb,
Rise above the grave of hate,
Deluded by one’s fallacious rectitude
While dancing into the trap of fate?

Rise above the noxious clouds,
Of lust, envy and foolish pride,
Rise above the earthly horizon,
Gaze below, now, far and wide.

Say, can one see the ground below,
The sight of mankind's pride turn wild,
A petite world, a fragile delusion,
Of a silent mother’s straying child?

Black Lies

courtesy: deviantart.com

You stand beside me like
A bride’s father down the aisle,
When I have my best dress on,
My face lit up so wild.

You walk close by me,
Like a pet that’s truly mine,
When my days are bright,
Like the sky on a moonlit night.

But when my candle blows out,
Darling, where are you?
What nature of darkness is it,
Where there is no trace of you?

But dear, why do you leave,
On such one moonless night?
Or is it so grave, this dark,
It erases you from sight?

As though you never were,
For my clothes reek of despair,
And my face is stained with tears,
Yet why can’t I see you here?

So I travelled back to the day
We walked down that glamorous aisle.
Do you remember the bright lights,
And my brilliant smile?

My hand held my skirt,
Your arms were holding me,
All of a sudden, a raging wind,
Rushed in and broke me free.

For where right next to me,
You felt so live and raw,
I turned 'round in dismay,
For black lies were all I saw.

I STILL BELIEVE

Do you believe the night will end? That another morning will come?

It’s been one long night now,

But not after one long day,

And not without another morning to come,

I still believe.

Somewhere deep down though I think,

There’s something within me quite not ready,

To feel the rays of the morning sun,

First rays, though billion years old.

'Til a new morning arise,

Set by an eternity old object,

By its eternity old light,

Never beginning and never ending,

That yet we believe to be,

New every dawn.

Temptation

Roaming the streets like an ordinary man

But he, he knows what’s overridden his life

Temptation, why is that so tempting?

Temptation, that led him to sin.

Pondering his mind, weighing his will

Yet temptation, it’s taking him far away

His spunk! His spurious self

Whispering sotto voice to his soul

To souse himself in perennial sin.

And when he’s done, lost to temptation

He’s stultified, back to dull life

In quest of fortitude now

Temptation, why is that so tempting?

Temptation, that led him to sin.

Times Have Gone and So Have The Tides

Times have gone and so have the tides,

The rivers  dried and new streams then flowed.

The trees have grown old, then probably perished,

And the new ones we see now have all grown.

Yet the fatherly sky over our heads remain,

The motherly soil beneath our feet is the same.

We have always been and are still human,

Different identifications under one name.

As is happiness simple to a child,

So was this knowledge to me.

But times have gone and so have the tides,

Things are no longer  as I used to see.

Perhaps here’s the time to grow up  now,

And add one more to all that have grown.

Indeed the rivers have now all dried,

And ever since blood has flowed.
